Special character apostrophe ' in Excel (ASCII code = 39)
Character apostrophe ('), or single quotation mark, has special function in MS Excel.
It is used to indicate that the following character is stored as text.
And it's NOT display when it's used in that function.
Example:
The original number: 0123456
If you want to keep digits 0, you can put apostrophe (') at the beginning of the number (no need to change format to text).
So far, we have known the function of single quotation mark, but it's may be annoying sometime. As it is not visible, you may miss the value of the cell, which contain ' at the beginning.
For normal user, this would be OK. But for me, work with data that start with ', it's really annoying.
Anyone who has the same problem with me, I hope you can find the solution and share with me :)
Have a nice day!
